The Official Uno No Mercy Rules
Uno No Mercy, also known as Uno Show Em No Mercy, takes the traditional UNO game to a whole new level with exciting twists and action-packed gameplay.
The rules have been updated to include intense action cards like Wild Draw 10, Discard All, and Skip Everyone, making the game more unpredictable. From stacking penalties to special rules that allow you to knock out opponents, mastering these rules is key to dominating the game.

UNO Show Em No Mercy In A Nutshell
It plays just like classic UNO by matching color, number, or symbol, but 4 special rules and 6 super-tough Action Cards have been added to spice things up. There are also 2 ways to win: the traditional way of getting rid of all the cards in your hand or knocking out all the other players out of the game. Like always, when you’re down to your last card, you still gotta yell “UNO!”
Setup
- Choose a dealer and shuffle the cards. Tip: There are a lot of cards, so if you have trouble shuffling, try splitting the deck between multiple players.
- Deal 7 cards to each player.
- Place the remaining cards FACEDOWN in the center of the table. This is the DRAW PILE.
- Flip over the top card of the DRAW PILE and place it FACEUP to form the DISCARD PILE. If this card is an Action Card, ignore it and flip over the next card.
- The player to the left of the dealer goes first and play proceeds clockwise.
Let’s Play UNO!
On your turn, try to get rid of all your cards by playing ONE CARD onto the Discard Pile.
If you HAVE a matching card: You can only play a card if it matches at least one attribute of the top card on the Discard Pile: its color, number, or symbol. If the card you played is an Action Card, it does something special!
If you DO NOT HAVE a matching card: You must DRAW cards from the Draw Pile until you draw a card YOU CAN PLAY. Then, play that card.
NOTE: If there are no cards left in the Draw Pile, reshuffle the Discard Pile to form a new Draw Pile.
Calling “UNO!”
The moment you only have 1 card in your hand, you must yell “UNO” to alert the other players you are about to win. However, if someone catches you and calls out “UNO” before you (and before the next player begins their turn), then you must draw 2 cards!
Winning
When a player plays their final card, they win. Alternatively, if all other players are knocked out of the game (see Mercy Rule), you win. Time to shuffle the cards and play again!
Special Rules
Stacking
If someone plays a Draw Card (+2, +4, +6, +10) you can “Stack” the penalty by playing a Draw Card from your hand of equal or higher value. If you do, the card you played adds to the total penalty for the next player.
Example: If someone plays a +4 card on you, and you can play a +6 on top of it, the next player is now forced to draw 10 cards (unless they can play a Draw +6 or higher). This continues until someone can’t play a Draw Card that equals or exceeds the value of the last card played. That player then takes the full penalty of all stacked Draw Cards. Ouch!
Mercy Rule
If a player ever has 25 or more cards in their hand, they are out of the game. Set aside their hand of cards until the deck runs out and needs to be reshuffled.
7’s Swap
When you play a 7 card of any color, you MUST swap your hand with another player of your choice. Play then continues in current order.
0’s Pass
When you play a 0 card of any color, ALL players must pass their hand to the next player in the current direction of play.
Action Cards
Draw Two Card
The next player in current order must draw 2 cards and lose their turn.
Draw Four Card
When played, the next player must draw 4 cards and lose their turn.
Skip Card
When played, the next player in current order loses their turn.
Reverse Card
When played, the direction of play is reversed. If play was moving clockwise, it now moves counterclockwise and vice versa. With just two players, a Reverse skips the other player, letting you take another turn.
Discard All Card
Discard all the cards in your hand that match the color of the Discard All Card. Place the extra cards under the Discard All Card.
Skip Everyone Card
Skip all the other players and take another turn.
Wild Cards
Wild Reverse Draw 4 Card
Reverse the direction of play, then the next player in the new direction must draw 4 cards and lose their turn. With just two players, this card skips the other player and makes YOU draw 4 cards! You may use the stacking rule to send the penalty back to the other player.
Wild Draw 6 Card
The next player must draw 6 cards and lose their turn.
Wild Draw 10 Card
The next player must draw 10 cards and lose their turn.
Wild Color Roulette Card
The next player chooses a color. After that, they must reveal cards one at a time from the Draw Pile until they get a card of that color (Wild Cards do NOT count). Then they add all the revealed cards to their hand and lose their turn.
Keeping Score (Optional Victory Method)
When a player wins a hand, they receive points based on the cards remaining in their opponent’s hands.

Keep a running tally of each player’s points from hand to hand. When a player reaches 1000 points, they are the winner.
How to Play Uno No Mercy
Learning how to play Uno No Mercy is key to mastering this fast-paced, strategic game. This version introduces new action cards like Wild Draw 6 and Wild Color Roulette, along with stacking rules that allow you to pass massive penalties to your opponents.
The goal is to either get rid of all your cards or knock out opponents by forcing them to draw 25 or more cards through stacking. Ready to dive in? Let’s get started!
Distribute Cards
All players draw one card, and the player with the highest card becomes the dealer (cards with symbols count as zero). The dealer shuffles and deals 7 cards to each player. This is the same as regular UNO, but in UNO No Mercy, the game has more cards and action options!
Set Up the DRAW Pile
Place the remaining cards face down in the center of the table to create the DRAW pile. This is where you’ll draw cards if you don’t have a playable one. In UNO No Mercy, reshuffle the DISCARD pile to form a new DRAW pile if the cards run out.
Lay the First Card
The dealer draws the top card from the DRAW pile and flips it over to start the DISCARD pile. If the first card is an Action Card (e.g., Wild Draw 10, Discard All, or Skip Everyone), ignore it and draw again until you get a number card to start.
Start Playing Uno No Mercy
The player to the left of the dealer goes first. Play a card from your hand that matches the color, number, or symbol of the top card on the DISCARD pile. If you play an Action Card, apply its effect immediately.
Draw a Card
If you don’t have a playable card, you must draw cards from the DRAW pile until you find one that can be played. Once you draw a matching card, you can immediately play it or keep it for later strategy.
Special Action And Wild Cards
- Draw Two Card: Forces the next player to draw 2 cards and skip their turn.
- Draw Four Card: The next player draws 4 cards and loses their turn.
- Wild Draw 6 Card: The next player draws 6 cards and skips their turn.
- Wild Draw 10 Card: The next player draws 10 cards and skips their turn.
- Skip Everyone Card: Skips all the other players and gives you another turn.
- Discard All Card: Discard all cards of the same color from your hand.
- 7’s Swap: Swap hands with a player of your choice.
- 0’s Pass: All players pass their hands to the next player.
Stacking in UNO No Mercy
If a Draw Card (+2, +4, +6, +10) is played, you can stack a Draw Card of equal or higher value to pass the penalty to the next player. This continues until a player can’t stack, and they take the full penalty of all stacked cards!
Don’t Forget to Say Uno!
When you have just one card left, you must yell “UNO!”. If someone catches you not saying it before your next turn, you must draw 2 cards. This is crucial in UNO No Mercy since penalties can pile up quickly!
Mercy Rule
If a player has 25 or more cards in their hand, they are eliminated from the game due to the Mercy Rule. The remaining players continue playing until only one is left, or someone plays their last card to win the round.
Who Wins?
In UNO No Mercy, you can win by either:
- Being the first to play all your cards, or
- Knocking out all other players using the Mercy Rule.
After a player wins, shuffle the cards and start a new round!
Keeping Score (Optional)
If you choose to keep score, points are calculated based on the cards remaining in your opponents’ hands. You also earn 250 bonus points for knocking out a player with the Mercy Rule. The first player to reach 1000 points wins the game.

The 0 card in Uno No Mercy causes all players to pass their hands to the next player in the current direction of play.
There are four Wild Draw 10 cards in the Uno No Mercy deck.
The sad face card is the Wild Color Roulette Card. The next player chooses a color, then reveals cards from the Draw Pile until they find a card of that color. All revealed cards go into their hand, and they lose their turn.
You can win Uno No Mercy by either getting rid of all your cards or knocking out opponents by stacking penalties and forcing them to draw more than 25 cards.

Classic Uno doesn’t have any elimination mechanic. In Uno Show ‘Em No Mercy, the Mercy Rule knocks a player out of the game if they accumulate 25 or more cards.
Stacking Rules
In classic Uno, there are no official stacking rules. Uno Show ‘Em No Mercy introduces official stacking rules where Draw Cards can be stacked to pass penalties to the next player.
7’s Swap and 0’s Pass
These unique cards are not found in classic Uno. The 7’s Swap forces you to swap hands with another player, and the 0’s Pass makes all players pass their hands in the direction of play.
Winning Strategies for UNO No Mercy
Mastering UNO No Mercy requires more than just luck; it demands strategic thinking and tactical gameplay.
Use Stacking to Knock Out Opponents
The stacking rules allow you to add Draw Cards on top of each other, creating massive penalties for your opponents. Use this strategy to force opponents to hit the Mercy Rule.
Hold Onto Powerful Action Cards
Cards like the Wild Draw 10 and Wild Reverse Draw 4 can change the game instantly, but timing is everything. Save these cards for crucial moments.
Play the 7’s Swap and 0’s Pass Wisely
When you play a 7 card, choose wisely who to swap hands with—preferably someone with a smaller hand. The 0 card forces all players to pass their hands, which can break up strong positions.
Prioritize Discard All and Skip Everyone Cards
The Discard All card is one of the best tools for reducing your hand quickly. The Skip Everyone card lets you take another turn, preventing other players from making their moves.
Know When to Call “UNO”
Just like in classic UNO, calling “UNO!” when you have one card left is essential. If someone catches you not calling it, you could be forced to draw additional cards!
